Fiddler on the Roof

About this event

Valley Light Opera presents the acclaimed musical Fiddler on the Roof, featuring a stellar cast (our Tevye has played the role on four other occasions), full orchestra, great choreography, and VLO’s usual attention to detail with sets and costumes. The story – by turns inspirational, heartwarming and poignant – centers on Tevye, a milkman in the fictional village of Anatevka, who wants to maintain his Jewish traditions, even as his daughters’ preferences for husbands and the changing political landscape in the Pale Settlement circa 1905 challenge his beliefs and threaten his family and community.

Performances are at the Academy of Music in Northampton on November 5 and 6 (7:30 p.m.) and November 7 and 8 (2:00 p.m. matinees). For both matinees, there will be a pre-show talk at 1:00 p.m. with Sebastian Schulman of the Yiddish Book Center. For tickets, please go directly to the Academy of Music website: https://aomtheatre.com. Don’t miss it!
